A wet room takes the concept further: the entire bathroom is fully waterproofed and tiled so the shower area flows seamlessly into the rest of the room with no screen or step at all. The whole floor is graded to drain, and the space functions as one continuous wet area.

That means the waterproofing must be done to Australian Standard AS 3740, with membranes applied to the correct heights, all junctions and penetrations sealed, and proper falls built into the floor.
