From a double vanity layout to a modern, resort-inspired bathroom
MYBUILD completed a full renovation of the bathroom at The Lakes on Greenslopes Street, Edge Hill. The dated layout – centred around a double vanity that left little room for anything else — has been transformed into a calm, functional space that feels generous well beyond its footprint.
The final design pairs ocean-toned teal subway tiles with crisp white gloss surfaces, light grey stone-look floors, and brushed brass fixtures throughout. The result is a bathroom that is warm, considered, and built to perform in the Cairns climate.

A single bathroom renovation focused on layout, functionality, and confident finishes
MYBUILD completed a full renovation of the bathroom at a private residence at The Lakes, Greenslopes Street, Edge Hill.
The goal was to rethink the existing layout and create a space that functions better for everyday use while achieving a high-quality finish. The double vanity configuration was removed and replaced with a single vanity, with the freed space used to integrate a new dedicated shower. All finishes, fixtures, and fittings were replaced as part of a complete rebuild from demolition through to handover.
Teal subway feature tiles, large format white gloss wall tiles, and brushed brass fixtures combine to deliver a tropical-inspired aesthetic suited to the Cairns lifestyle, with materials selected for durability and low maintenance in a humid environment.

Key Features
What was included in the renovation
Light Grey Stone-Look Floor Tiles
Textured light grey floor tiles provide grip and durability underfoot. Their neutral tone sits comfortably between the white walls and teal feature wall, tying the palette together.
Freestanding Bath
A sleek inset freestanding bath is positioned in front of the feature wall with wall-mounted brushed brass tapware. It anchors the room visually and adds a touch of luxury to what is a compact unit bathroom.
Walk-In Shower
A new shower was added in place of the second sink, making the room significantly more functional. A frameless glass screen keeps the area visually open and allows the white tile surround to remain the focus.
Brushed Brass Fixtures
Brushed brass is used consistently across all tapware and accessories - bath spout, overhead rain shower head, handheld shower, towel rail, and door hardware. The warm metallic finish adds depth and ties the entire space together against the teal and white palette.
